Music For Hangovers by Philt (2002)
hilt's - Music For Hangovers\n\n- Chorlton (hello! ) described my last disc as being a "bit quiet" - well this ones even quieter\n\n1.Super Furry Animals - Something's Come From Nothing\nHypnotic track from the album Guerrilla.\n \n2.FSOL- The Far Out Sun Of Lung & The Ramblings Of A Madman.\nAs close as FSOL come to producing music that has a tune - Nice Aliens sample at the start. From the album ISDN\n\n3.The Avalanches - Since I Left You\nGreat Video; Better song - from MP3. I'll buy the album when it's cheap enough\n\n4.Kinobe - Slip Into Something\nAs used in the Kronenburg and Magnum Ad - a real pity that a song as good as this is being used to sell product From a dodgy chillout (yargh ) album\n\n5.Boards Of Canada - Music Is Math\nOdd, odd, odd. From the Album Geogaddi\n\n6.John Cage - Sonata V\nTune from one of the founders of minimalism - a huge influence on modern music - performed by Boris Berman from the Naxos Album - Sonata and Interludes For Prepared Piano\n\n7.Moby - Inside\nThe only Moby track I like - it reminds me of the Alan Silvestre music over the end titles of - Flight Of The Navigator. From the ubiquitous album Play.\n\n8.Agnelli & Nelson - Slide\nTrance from Larne's (eh? ) Djaying duo. From the rather excellent Hudson Street \n\n9.DJ Shadow - What Does Your Soul Look Like?\nTop track spoilt somewhat by the unnecessary hip-hop sample at the start which I was in two minds about removing. From the Album Entroducing\n\n10.Sabres Of Paradise - SmokeBelch II\nGot a loan of one of those "Davy DJ mixes Ibiza trance anthems" things. This was the stand out track - by a mile. Currently searching for the Warp EP this originally appeared on.\n\n11.Sigur Ros - Svefn-g-englar\nYip they are Icelandic - Big influence on the last two Radiohead Albums. This track echoes the Pink Floyd track "Echoes" (ask your parents ). From the Album of the same title\n\n12.Pink Floyd - High Hopes\nThe granddaddies of ambient rock. A wistful track laced with nostalgia and regret for times past and futures lost - plus a blistering Dave Gilmour steel guitar solo- From The Division Bell. "The grass was greener"\n\n13.Leftfield - Reno's Prayer.\nAlmost a dance version of "Tales From the Future" from the Bladerunner Soundtrack.\n\nThere were a couple of tracks that nearly made it - but CD's only last for 80 minutes - so no Voyage 34 by Porcupine Tree although a tiny fragment introduces the CD or Aphex Twin's Mookid, or the Orb's Spanish Castle, or Yes's Close to the Edge - maybe next time....
This misc cd contains 13 tracks and runs 72min 39sec.
