SPACE NIGHT\n\nIn 1995, south german station Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) started a new tv program called Space Night. The concept of this groundbreaking project was to combine original NASA/ESA film-, video- and documentary footage from outer space with music made on earth. To support the promotion for the three to four hour long show sent every night on tv, the station teamed up with major record company eastwest, which lead to the release of the first Space Night CD-Compilation.\nEven though the tv show with it's futuristic visuals soon reached cult status among mainly young night watchers, the first soundtrack selected by BR music editors (including artists like Mike Oldfield or Phil Collins!) couldn't capture the vibeof this audience and the whole thing.\nOne day in early 1996 Alex Azary,founder of the Elektrolux label and member of Aural Float, approached the people responsible for Space Night and convinced them to change the musical concept for both the tv special and the cd compilation series. Sincethen, Aural Float has compiled the\nSpace Night soundtrack volumes II, III,IV and V, selecting the right mixture of atmospheric tracks. Over theyears, Alex and the Elektrolux crew not only started to take also part in thevisual concept of the tv specials, but also got the exclusive vinylrights for the soundtracks.\n\nSpace Night soundtracks compiled by AuralFloat YEAR: 2002
