Trojan CDTRL 287\n(P) 1989 Trojan Records Ltd.\n\nAll tracks originally produced by Lee Perry,\nKingston, Jamaica 1972 - 1976.\n\nThis is a musical investigation into 'versioning', which\nis the '70's term for recycling a rhythm in various forms\n(vocal, instrumental, deejay, dub), some of which \nbear little resemblance to the original.\n\nTracks 1-3 are labeled 'Musical Shower' and are all\nversions of the "Want A Wine" rhythm.\n\nTracks 4-8 are labeled "Fever Storm" and are all versions\nof the old classic "Fever".\n\nTracks 9-16 constitute a marathon "Babylon Deluge"\non the "Beat Down Babylon" rhythm.\n\nVersioning aside, this is a fine and varied tribute to\na producer whose quantity and quality of output is\nmatched by his completely unique sound.\n\nJay Novello\njay@itre.ncsu.edu YEAR: 1991
