Formed in Sydney in 1981 the Hoodoo Gurus became one of Australias best live bands and with a string of very infectious singles enjoyed a lot of chart success and airplay at home and also overseas, especially with the U.S. college circuit and parts of Europe.\n\nThe Gurus live shows were brilliant and a lot of fun as well. Unlike a lot of bands, the band didnt take themselves too seriously and had a tongue in cheek approach that appealed to audiences. They called it a day in 1997 but not before releasing a number of very successful albums including Mars Needs Guitars, Blue Cave and Blow Your Cool.
