Thomas has been associated for a number of years with the literary, visual arts, dance, music, recovery, neighborhood, and Buddhist communities of the Twin Cities. Thomas is a 1993 Bush Fellowship recipien known throughout the arts community for his creative improvisational music (brief realities), spiritual energy and interdisciplinary vision. His compositions are multifaceted. They encompass a historic range of musical styles, always expressing social and personal experiences and observations.\n\n \n\nSteve Goldstein has performed professionally through the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean in musical genres and idioms of experimental, jazz, funk, and others. He has performed and recorded with a wide array of artisds including Hamid Drake, Douglas Ewart, Joseph Jarman, Nirmala Rajsekar, Jan Gilbert, David Means, Gary Schulte, Marcus Wise, Jocelyn Gorham, Mixashawn, and Carol Kaye. After relocating to Minneapolis, Golstein began extensive studies in the application and theory of South Indian rythmic structures with world-renowned ghatam (tuned clay pot percussion instrument) master, Sri T.H. Subash Chandran.\n\n \n\nDavid Means produces the Strange Attractors festivals, teaches music and intermedia arts and creates experimental intermedia projects around the world. As an improvising musician and actor he has collaborated and performed with Ron George, Susan Rawcliffe, Steve Goldstein, Carie Thomas, Georgia Stephens, Tom Kanthak and Fred Ho, among others. He has just completed a 150 second word for the ensemble Zeitgeist, to commemorate their 30th year and Minnesota's 150th.
